Cyle Hankerd Named Pac-10 Conference Player Of The Week

WALNUT CREEK, Calif. - USC junior outfielder Cyle Hankerd has been named the Pacific-10 Conference Baseball Player of the Week for Feb. 7-13, Commissioner Tom Hansen announced Tuesday.
Hankerd, from Covina, Calif., went 10-for-18 (.556) with three doubles, two stolen bases, two home runs and eight RBI (1.056 slugging percentage) in the Trojans' win at UC Riverside and three-game sweep of Florida International. On Tuesday, Hankerd went 4-for-5 with two doubles and two RBI in USC's 13-10 win at UC Riverside. On Sunday, he went 3-for-5 with two home runs and four RBI to close out the sweep of the Golden Panthers.
In Tuesday's win at UC Santa Barbara, Hankerd added a three-run homer and extended his season-opening hitting streak to eight games. He is batting .500 (16-for-32) with three home runs and 15 RBI.
The Player of the Week honor is the first of Hankerd's career, while it is the 52nd such honor for USC.
