California Women's Tennis Match Suspended Against UCLA

Feb. 17, 2006

LOS ANGELES - The sixth-ranked California women's tennis team's match against the No. 17 UCLA Bruins was cut short as rainfall halted play at the Los Angeles Tennis Center. UCLA took an early 1-0 lead after winning the doubles point. The Golden Bears had taken the first set on two of the six courts when play was suspended.

Cal is scheduled to face No. 4 USC tomorrow at 1 p.m. (PST). If that match is finished, then UCLA and Cal will resume today's match on Sunday at 11:00 a.m. (PST). If tomorrow's match also gets rained out or is suspended at any point, then USC will host Cal again on Sunday. If that is the case, the UCLA match will not be made up.
