Top-Ranked Cal Upset by Fifth-Ranked Stanford, 136-107

STANFORD, Calif. - The top-ranked California men's swimming and diving team suffered its first loss of the season in its final dual meet of the season, falling to fifth-ranked Stanford, 136-107. The Golden Bears won just four out of 13 events and wound up with a 6-1 (3-1 Pac-10) dual-meet record, while Stanford improves to 4-1 (4-1 Pac-10).

Cal won two individual swim events: senior Henrique Barbosa won the 200-yard breaststroke in a time of 1:56.40 and junior teammate Patrick O'Neil won the 200 butterfly in a time of 1:45.40. Bears freshman diver Sam Helvie won the one-meter springboard with a score of 216.00 points and the Cal A team of sophomore William Copeland, senior Milorad Cavic, sophomore Jernej Godec and junior Jonas Tilly won the 400-freestyle relay in an Avery Aquatic Center record time of 2:53.68.
