Bruin Blue Team Travels to Cougar Invitational

The UCLA men's golf Blue Team travels to the Cougar Invitational this week to be hosted by Cal State San Marcos at San Luis Rey Downs in Bonsall, CA.

The Blues, winners of two team titles in three appearances, will be battling for their second straight title. Last week the Bruins won the Pala Mesa Invitational with a three-round total of 855 (-9) and sophomore Craig Leslie won his first collegiate title with a 54-hole score of 210 (-6). In 12 rounds this season, Leslie has recorded six rounds under par and boasts a 73.3 scoring average.

Junior Peter Campbell finished second at the Pala Mesa event, followed by freshman Lucas Lee, who captured third place honors. Sophomore Brandon Christianson tied for sixth place.

The Cougar Invitational field includes several small colleges from California, including Cal Lutheran, Laverne, Redlands, Cal State Dominguez Hills, UC San Diego and the San Diego State B team.

Thirty-six holes will be played on Mon., Feb. 20, followed by 18 on Tues., Feb. 21.
