USC's Luana Magnani Named Pac-10 Women's Tennis Player of the Week

WALNUT CREEK, Calif. - USC senior Luana Magnani has been named the Pac-10 Women's Tennis Player of the Week for Feb. 13 - 20, Commissioner Tom Hansen announced today.

Magnani, a senior from Pasadena, Calif., teamed up with Lindsey Nelson in the No. 1 doubles position to drop California's Suzi Babos and Stephanie Kusano, 8-2 on Sat., Feb. 18. No. 69 Magnani went on in the No. 4 singles position to defeat Jessica Shu, 6-4, 6-2 to help ensure a 4-3 victory for the Women of Troy.

Magnani was the lone USC player to win a singles match over top-ranked Stanford with a 7-5, 6-3 win over Whitney Deason from her No. 4 singles slot. In dual matches this season, she is undefeated (5-0) in singles play.

This is Magnani's first Pac-10 Player of the Week honor and first weekly honor all-time for USC.
