Bruin Women End Regular Season Saturday at Oregon

Bruins at Oregon on Saturday -- The Bruins (16-10, 11-6, tied for third place in the Pac-10) will finish up the regular season schedule on Saturday, Feb. 25 at 3 pm against Oregon (14-13, 5-12). UCLA has won six of its last eight games overall.
UCLA will play its first game in the State Farm Pac-10 Tournament on Saturday, Mar. 4 and will be either the #3, #4 or #5 seeded team. The Bruins will be seeded fifth if they finish in a three-way tie with Washington and USC. UCLA will win a two-way tie with UW and lose a two-way tie with USC.

Quinn, Pluimer Earn Academic All-District Honors -- Junior Noelle Quinn and sophomore Lindsey Pluimer have been selected to the CoSIDA/ESPN the Magazine Academic All-District 8 women's basketball team. Quinn, who holds a 3.26 GPA in Sociology, was selected to the first team and is now eligible for the national Academic All-American ballot. Pluimer, a 3.67 student, received third-team honors and is one of just two underclassmen selected to the All-District 8 teams.

About Oregon -- Oregon entered the week leading the conference in scoring defense (57.9), field goal percentage defense (.353) and free throw percentage (.751). Gabrielle Richards leads the conference in free throw percentage (.898) and is third in field goal percentage (.516) and eighth in rebounding (6.8).
The Series With Oregon -- The Bruins captured the first meeting of the season by a score of 82-63 on Dec. 20 in Pauley to go ahead in the series by a count of 22-21. The Bruins opened up a 13-point first half lead but saw the Ducks close to within 37-31 at the half. After Oregon had taken a 45-44 lead with 15 minutes to play, UCLA went on a 12-0 run to help break the game open. Noelle Quinn led a balanced Bruin attack with 16 points. Nikki Blue added 15 and handed out nine assists.
