Stanford was ranked in the Baseball America poll for two weeks before losing the Kansas series ... The Cardinal jumped into the poll at No. 19 on February 6 after the Fullerton sweep and just stayed in at No. 24 following the series loss to Kansas but dropped out after splitting the first two games of the Texas series ... Stanford had not been ranked in the preseason poll for the first time since the publication started the rankings in 1981 ... In addition, Stanford was in the rankings for 227 consecutive weeks from 1994-2005 before dropping out on May 16, 2005

• Stanford looks to be breaking out of an early season offensive slump with a .299 team batting average and 50 hits during its last five games, including a season-best 14 in Monday's 13-9 win over Texas when the Cardinal also registered a season-high in runs

• Michael Taylor (.500, 9-18, 8 RBI) and Chris Minaker (.476, 10-21, HR, 7 RBI, SB) are leading the hitting resurgence with Taylor also the owner of a career-high-tying six-game hit streak and Minaker hitting safely in five in a row

• Stanford's pitching staff has recorded a 3.42 team ERA, which would be the lowest mark since the 1973 club checked in at 2.64 were the season to end today

• Freshman pitcher Jeremy Bleich has already recorded five saves while appearing in eight of his first 12 games at Stanford, giving up just five hits and one run with 10 strikeouts in 11.2 scoreless innings and posting a .125 opponents' batting average

• Stanford played before a season-high 3704 in Friday night's series-opener at Fresno State
