Stanford Golf Takes Third At Ashworth Invitational

Thousand Oaks, Calif. - The Stanford men's golf team shot a final round of 290 today to take third place overall at the Ashworth Invitational, shooting an 873 (290-293-290) for the tournament. Pepperdine, which came away with the team title, carded an 861 (+9). Rounding out the top five were USC (870), Stanford (873), UCLA (875) and Oklahoma (875).

A day after rain made conditions bad enough to halt play before the second round was complete, the 15 participating teams enjoyed a largely sunny day,

Oklahoma's Anthony Kim (68, 69, 67) won the individual title with a 204 (-9), seven strokes ahead of the next closest finisher.

Cardinal Zack Miller took second individually with a two-under 211 (72-71-68) for the tourney. Teammate Rob Grube came in sixth with a one-over 214 (72-71-71). Stanford's Matt Savage tied for 41st on the individual leaderboard with a 225 (75-77-73) while Dodge Kemmer tied for 46th at 226 (71-77-78). Kyle Gentry tied for 51st (79-78-71--228) along with teammate Daniel Lim (76-74-78--228).
