California Women's Gymnastics Falls to No. 15 Arizona State

BERKELEY - The California women's gymnastics team fell on Friday to the No. 15 Arizona State Sun Devils, 196.250-191.850. The Golden Bears posted team season best scores on the bars and floor.

The Bears recorded a team season-high of 48.625 on the bars. Freshman Joanna Bennett notched a 9.825 to lead the team. Senior Britani Pittullo posted a season-high 9.775 also in the event.

Cal also recorded its season-high score on the floor (48.400). Garcia recorded her season-best 9.775 and sophomore Alli Szutu posted her season-high (9.675) in the event.

Both sophomore Siobhan Luce and Pittullo collected their season-highs in the all-around competition. Luce earned a 38.525, matching her career-high. Pittullo notched a 38.400.

On the vault, junior Isabel Garcia matched her career-high of 9.800. Pittullo also recorded a 9.80. Bennett posted her career-high (9.550) in the event.

The Bears will travel to the East Coast next weekend. On Friday evening the Bears will face West Virginia and Pittsburgh in Morgantown, W. Va. Sunday Cal will compete at George Washington and North Carolina State in Washington, D.C.
