More All-America Recognition for Leon Powe

BERKELEY - Sophomore forward Leon Powe added to his list of postseason honors Tuesday when he was named a second-team All-American by the U.S. Basketball Writers Association.
Powe, who leads the Pac-10 in both scoring (20.0 ppg) and rebounding (9.9 rpg), has also been selected to All-America squads by ESPN.com (second team) and Scout.com (third team). In addition, he was voted to the 2005-06 All-Pac-10 team, earning the award for the second time in his career.
Powe claimed a spot on the USBWA's All-District IX team, as well, Tuesday. The team is comprised of players from schools in the states of California, Oregon, Washington, Hawaii, Arizona and Alaska.
