Bruins Finish Eighth in Las Vegas

The fifth-ranked UCLA men's golf team finished eighth at the Southern Highlands Collegiate Championship, hosted by Nevada Las Vegas Sunday.
The Bruins posted a final round team score of 313 (+25) and finished with a 54-hole total of 904 (+40). Host UNLV won the event with a three-round score of 879 (+15), followed by top-ranked Georgia at 889 (+25), Oklahoma State at 899 (+35) and Florida at 900 (+36). Clemson, Arizona State and Texas A&M tied for fifth at 902 (+38).
Individually for the Bruins, sophomore Daniel Im posted a final round score of 76 (+4) and placed fourth, four shots out of first place. Junior Chris Heintz tied for 27th at 229 (+13) after signing for an 80. Sophomore Craig Leslie tied for 36th at 231 (+15) after posting a 79. Sophomore Kevin Chappell and freshman Erik Flores tied for 44th at 232 (+16).
UNLV's Matt Kinsinger won the event with a three-round total of 214 (-2) and posted a final round score of 69 (-3).
