Bears Remain Among Top 10 Teams in the Nation

BERKELEY - The California women's tennis team dropped one place in the Fila Collegiate Tennis Rankings from No. 8 to No. 9, but the Bears remain among the top ten teams in the country for the fifth consecutive week. The rankings were released by the Intercollegiate Tennis Association on March 14.
Five Cal players are ranked among the top singles competitors in the nation, including junior Zsuzsanna Fodor, who currently holds a No. 9 singles ranking. Teammate Suzi Babos, a sophomore from Sopron, Hungary, is ranked No. 29, while Cristina Visico is No. 77. Sophomore Marion Ravelojaona, who joins the Bears from Paris, France, holds a No. 79 ranking and Stephanie Kusano is No. 115.
Cal has one doubles team in the rankings, in Babos and Fodor, who are ranked 19th.
The Bears have a break in their schedule before returning to action on March 28 when they travel to Fort Worth, TX, to face Texas Christian University at 1:30 p.m. Cal then travels to Waco, TX on March 29 to face Baylor at 5:00 p.m.
