In fact, the Bruins have held their last six opponents under 60 points... UCLA will be making its 40th NCAA Tournament appearance... ARIZONA will be making its 22nd consecutive NCAA Tournament appearance, the longest active streak in the nation, and its 25th appearance overall... Brandon Roy, the Pac-10 Player of the Year, will look to guide WASHINGTON through the NCAA bracket. It's the third straight appearance for the Huskies, and 13th overall... Also joining in on the postseason from the Pac-10 will be STANFORD. The Cardinal have an NIT opening round matchup with Virginia on Tuesday night. This is Stanford's fifth NIT appearance and it captured the NIT title in 1991.

  • PAC-10 AND THE NCAA TOURNAMENT... With four teams selected for the NCAA Tournament, the Pac-10 is sending four or more teams into the Tournament for the 12th time in 13 years... Over the last five NCAA Tournaments, the Pac-10 has posted a 34-23 record and has had 10 teams reach the Sweet Sixteen... With 15 national titles, the Pac-10 owns more NCAA basketball titles than any other conference. Five different Pac-10 schools have captured the national title.

  • ARIZONA continues its string of consecutive appearances in the NCAA Tournament with its 22nd consecutive appearance, the nation's longest active streak... Arizona has a 40-23 record (.635) in the NCAA Tournament, with four trips to the Final Four, including a national title in 1997... The Wildcats are 38-20 (.655) under coach Lute Olson in Tournament play. Olson's career record in postseason play is 45-26 (.634)... Arizona is seeded No. 8. Since the NCAA began seeding teams for the Tournament in 1979, Arizona has been seeded 8 or lower only two other times - 1987 as a 10 seed, and 2004 as a 9 seed... Arizona posted a 1-3 record against non-conference opponents that are among the NCAA Tournament field... The Wildcats are 1-2 vs. first round opponent Wisconsin, having lost to the Badgers in their last meeting, which was the second round of the 2000 NCAA Tournament.

  • CALIFORNIA is making its 14th NCAA Tournament appearance, and first since the 2003 season... The Bears are 18-13 (.581) all-time in the Tournament, with a national title in 1959... This is the fifth time that coach Ben Braun has taken the Bears to the NCAA Tournament - setting a record for most NCAA appearances by a Cal coach... Cal has a 1-1 record against non-conference opponents that are among the NCAA Tournament field... The Golden Bears are 1-0 all-time against first round opponent North Carolina State, having defeated the Wolfpack in the first round of the 2003 NCAA Tournament.

  • UCLA is making its 40th NCAA Tournament appearance. As a No. 2 seed, UCLA enters the Tournament with its highest seed since 1997 when it also was awarded a No. 2 seed... The Bruins have posted an all-time NCAA Tournament record of 85-32 (.726) with a record 11 national titles... Coach Ben Howland is 4-4 all-time in the Tournament, having guided three different schools (UCLA, Pittsburgh and Northern Arizona) into the bracket... UCLA will be looking for its first NCAA Tournament win since advancing to the regionals in 2002... The Bruins are 2-2 against non-conference opponents that are among the NCAA Tournament field... This will be the first meeting between UCLA and its first round opponent Belmont.

  • WASHINGTON is making its 13th NCAA Tournament appearance and have posted a record of 12-13 (.480) all-time in the Tournament... It's the Huskies third consecutive appearance, tying the school record of three straight appearances run off in 1984, `85, and `86... Coach Lorenzo Romar took the Huskies to the regionals last season and has a career postseason record of 2-3... The Huskies were 2-0 against non-conference opponents in the Tournament field... Washington is 2-5 all-time against first round opponent Utah State. Utah State has run off three consecutive victories in the series, with the last meeting coming during the 1987 season.

  • PAC-10 AND THE NIT... The Pac-10 has had four different teams participate in the NIT over the past three years - Oregon in 2004, Arizona State and Oregon State in 2005, and now Stanford in 2006... The Pac-10 won NIT titles in 1985 (UCLA), 1991 (Stanford) and 1999 (California)... Since the Pac-10 expanded in 1978-79 to include Arizona and Arizona State, Arizona is the only Pac-10 team not to make an NIT appearance under the league's ten team format. However, the Wildcats did make three appearances as a member of the Border Conference in 1946, `50 and `51.

  • STANFORD is making its fifth NIT appearance, and first since 1994. Following that 1994 appearance, the Cardinal then ran off 11 consecutive NCAA Tournament appearances... Stanford has appeared in the postseason (either NIT or NCAA) in 18 of the last 19 seasons... Stanford is 6-3 all-time in the NIT, while coach Trent Johnson is 0-1. Johnson guided Nevada to the NIT in 2003... The Cardinal are 3-1 all-time against opening round opponent Virginia, including a 2-0 mark against the Cavaliers in Maples Pavilion. The teams last met in Charlottesville, Va., during the 1995 season, which concluded a four-year home-and-home series between the two teams.

  • Defensively, each Pac-10 team held its opponents to an average of 70 points per game or less. That's never been done in the Pac-10 since the shot clock was put to use starting with the 1985-86 season. The most in any season had been five teams in 1986 and 1987.

  • ARIZONA posted a winning record in league play for the 22nd consecutive season... Senior G Hassan Adams is the only player in Pac-10 history with 1,700 points, 700 rebounds and 200 steals... Freshman F Marcus Williams leads all Pac-10 freshmen in scoring (12.8 ppg).

  • ARIZONA STATE junior G Kevin Kruger averaged a school record 38.96 minutes per game. He played all 40 minutes in 12 games, including seven of the last 11 contests. He played 1,091 out of 1,140 possible minutes (95.7 percent)... Jeff Pendergraph, a Pac-10 All-Freshman pick, averaged 14.7 ppg over the last nine games.

  • CALIFORNIA sophomore F Leon Powe is attempting to become the first Bear to lead the league in scoring (20.7 ppg) and rebounding (10.0 rpg) since Mark McNamara in 1982. In fact, it's been done only five times in the Pac-10. Powe is also looking to become the first Pac-10 player to average a double-double since Stanford's Adam Keefe accomplished the feat in 1992.

  • OREGON allowed an average of 65.3 ppg. That's UO's best defensive average since the 1984-85 squad allowed 61.9 ppg... Heartbreak City - the Ducks were 1-9 in games decided by five points or less. In fact, eight of those losses were by three points or less... Sophomore G Chamberlain Oguchi averaged 18.1 ppg over the last 10 games, hitting 40 of his team-leading 68 three-pointers in that span.

  • OREGON STATE sophomore F Marcel Jones finished strong. He averaged 12.7 ppg and 5.7 rpg over the final seven games... Senior G Chris Stephens set the school's career three-point field goals made list with 180... Sophomore F Sasa Cuic entered the Pac-10 Tournament averaging 19.0 points in his previous 10 games.

  • STANFORD senior F Matt Haryasz is one of three Cardinal all-time to post 1,000 points/600 rebounds/100 blocked shots... Senior G Chris Hernandez was an efficient 79-of-84 (.940) from the free throw line in Pac-10 play. His career numbers from the line are 352-of-410 (.859)... Stanford's 39 points in its victory at Washington State is the fewest for a winning team in Pac-10 play since the introduction of the shot clock in 1986.

  • UCLA won its 28th conference title and first since 1997. It's the 42nd 20-win season for the Bruins... Pac-10 Freshman of the Year F Luc Richard Mbah a Moute is on pace to set a UCLA freshman record for rebounds. He's at 8.1 rpg. He's already posted a UCLA rookie record with seven double-double this season.

  • USC posted a 17-win season under first-year coach Tim Floyd that included victories over top-20 ranked foes North Carolina and UCLA... Sophomore G Gabe Pruitt tallied 30 or more points three times this season, becoming the first Trojan to do so since Harold Miner in 1992 (11)... Sophomore F Nick Young is one of three Pac-10 players to rank in the league's top 10 in scoring (4th/17.3 ppg) and rebounding (7th/6.6 rpg).

  • WASHINGTON has posted back-to-back 20-win seasons for the first time since 1984-85, and only the second time since 1953... Senior G Brandon Roy became the second Husky to earn Pac-10 Player of the Year honors, joining former UW standout Chris Welp (1986)... Freshman F Jon Brockman became the second Husky freshman all-time to grab 200 rebounds... Freshman G Justin Dentmon set a UW frosh record with 113 assists.

  • WASHINGTON STATE used 23 different starting lineups in 28 games this season... The Cougars held the opposition to a league-best 57.7 ppg... WSU matched a school record with 130 blocked shots this season. Ranked among the league's top 10 were Sophomore F Robbie Cowgill (1.32 bpg) and junior F Ivory Clark (1.11 bpg).
