Cougar Tennis Breezes by Wyoming

HONOLULU, Hawaii -The Washington State women's tennis team finished its spring break road trip with a victory over Wyoming, 6-1. The Cougars are currently riding a winning streak of three games to improve its record to 8-7. The Cougars are ranked No. 71 by the Intercollegiate Tennis Association.

The Cougars went 3-0 on the week by the steady play of sophomore Ekaterinca Burduli. The Tel Aviv, Israel native defeated Karolina Rowinski, 7-5, 6-2. Burduli is currently ranked No. 84 and has an overall record of 17-10.

Junior Amy Toth continued her winning ways. Toth, who went 3-0 this past week, blew by Patricia Chien, 6-2, 6-2. Toth leads the team in winning percentage with .653. Toth paired up with Maria Ring to defeat Andrea House and Rowinski, 8-2. The duo leads the team in victories with nine.

The Cougars will take a short break and head back onto the courts in a four team tournament at Newport Beach, Calif. The teams competing are Loyola Marymount, Nebraska, and Ohio State. The Cougars will take on Nebraska, March 19 at 9 a.m.
