Washington State's Ekaterina Burduli Named Pac-10 Women's Tennis Player of the Week

WALNUT CREEK, Calif. - WASHINGTON STATE sophomore Ekaterina Burduli has been named the Pac-10 Women's Tennis Player of the Week for Mar. 13 - 19, Commissioner Tom Hansen announced today.
Burduli, from Tel Aviv, Israel, defeated Hawaii's Kana Aikawa 6-0, 6-1 on Tuesday in Washington State's 6-0 sweep. The sophomore continued her winning streak on Thursday, defeating Iowa State's Jill Palen, 6-1, 6-1, and Wyoming's Karolina Rowinski, 7-5, 6-2.
Burduli led the Cougars at Sunday's Newport Beach Tournament by defeating Ohio State's Caitlin O'Keefe, 6-4, 6-1. Burduli led Loyola Marymount's Pavla Mesterova, 6-4, 2-1, but the dual match played to completion.
Ranked No. 84 by ITA, Burduli currently boasts a 10-6 record in dual meet play.
This is Burduli's first Pac-10 Player of the Week honor and first weekly honor all-time for Washington State.
