  • PAC-10 AND THE NCAA TOURNAMENT... With four teams selected for the NCAA Tournament, the Pac-10 has sent four or more teams into the Tournament for the 12th time in 13 years... Over the last six NCAA Tournaments, the Pac-10 has posted a 39-25 (.609) record and has had 12 teams reach the Sweet Sixteen... With 15 national titles, the Pac-10 owns more NCAA basketball titles than any other conference. Five different Pac-10 schools have captured the national title.

  • UCLA is making its 40th NCAA Tournament appearance. As a No. 2 seed, UCLA enters the Tournament with its highest seed since 1997 when it also was awarded a No. 2 seed... The Bruins have posted an all-time NCAA Tournament record of 87-32 (.731) with a record 11 national titles... Coach Ben Howland is 6-4 (.600) all-time in the Tournament, having guided three different schools (UCLA, Pittsburgh and Northern Arizona) into the bracket... UCLA advances to the Oakland Region semifinals after wins over Belmont (78-44) and Alabama (62-59)... The last time Oakland was host to NCAA Regional action was in 1995. That year, UCLA won the West Region and advanced to the Final Four where it went on to win the school's 11th national title... The Bruins and Gonzaga have met just once, with Gonzaga knocking off the Bruins during the 2000 season. UCLA is 6-5 all-time vs. Bradley and are 3-2 all-time vs. Memphis. Memphis defeated UCLA in the NIT Preseason Tipoff semifinals earlier this season.

  • WASHINGTON is making its 13th NCAA Tournament appearance and have posted a record of 14-13 (.519) all-time in the Tournament... It's the Huskies third consecutive NCAA appearance, tying the school record of three straight appearances run off in 1984, `85, and `86... Coach Lorenzo Romar is taking the Huskies to the Sweet Sixteen for the second consecutive season and has a career postseason record of 4-3 (.571)... Washington is 0-2 all-time vs. Connecticut. The first time these two teams met was during the 1998 East Region semifinals when UConn's Richard Hamilton hit a buzzer beater for a 75-74 victory.
