Orban And Midles Win Hammer Events At Trojan Invitational

The Trojan Invitational being hosted by the USC track and field team began on March 24 with the men's and women's hammer, men's discus and men's shot yesterday at Cal State Northridge.  The Trojan Invitational continues today at Loker Stadim on the campus of USC.

USC freshman Eva Orban won the women's hammer with a throw of 212-10, the second farthest throw in school history. Britney Kay Henry of Oregon placed second with a throw of 208-4 and USC junior Julia Rozenfeld came in third with a throw of 202-8, her season best.

In the men's hammer, USC junior Adam Midles won the event with a season-best throw of 213-5. Trojan senior Noah Bryant placed third in the hammer with a throw of 192-5 and Korea's Sung Dae Lee placed second with a throw of 200-11.

The men's discus was won by D.J. Cooper who competed unattached and had a throw of 158-9. Travis Leonard of UCSB had the best official throw of 149-11.

The best throw in the men's shot came from Aaron Dan, who also was competing unattached, with a shot of 50-8 1/4. Timothy Delmundo had the farthest official shot put of 50-3 1/2.
