CAL COMPETES AT BRYAN NATIONAL COLLEGIATE: After over a two-week break from competition, No. 12 California travels to the Bryan National Collegiate Friday-Sunday, March 31-April 2, in Browns Summitt, N.C. The 54-hole tournamnet, which features 10 of the nation's top 20 teams, will be staged at the at the par-72, 6,064-yard Bryan Park Championship Course. A practice round is slated for Thursday at 9 a.m. ET, and tee times begin Friday-Sunday at 8:30 a.m. ET from holes one and 10.

THE FIELD: The 18-team field consists of No. 1 Duke, No. 5 Georgia, No. 8 Purdue, No. 11 Wake Forest, No. 12 California, No. 13 Tennessee, No. 14 Vanderbilt, No. 16 Florida, No. 17 Virginia, No. 20 Oklahoma State, No. 29 South Carolina, No. 31 LSU, No. 41 North Carolina State, No. 42 Furman, College of Charleston, North Carolina, UNC Greenboro and UNC Willmington. Duke is in pursuit of its sixth consecutive Bryan National Collegiate title and seventh in the nine-year history of the tournament. The Blue Devils held off Tennessee by 10 shots last season behind individual medallist Brittany Lang. This is Cal's first appearance at the Bryan National Collegiate.

CAL GUADALAJARA RECAP: Cal placed sixth with a score of 894 at the Cal Guadalajara Invitational March 6-8 in Guadalajara, Mexico. UCLA claimed top honors at even-par 864. USC's Irene Cho claimed the individual title at 13-under 203, 10 shots ahead of two UCLA golfers (Jane Park and Tiffany Joh). Senior Sophia Sheridan, a product of Guadalajara, tied for 15th (221) to lead all Cal golfers. Freshman Allison Goodman continued to come on strong for the Bears, tying for 17th (222) for the second straight tournament. Freshman Shannon Yocum produced her best result at Cal, tying for 24th (225).

BEARS IN THE RANKINGS: Three Cal golfers are ranked in the top 100 nationally according to the latest Golfweek/Sagarin rankings released March 26. Senior Sofie Andersson leads the trio at No. 20, followed by senior Sophia Sheridan at No. 40 and freshman Allison Goodman at No. 86. After beginning the fall not ranked in the top 25 as a team, Cal has climbined to as high as No. 11 this spring and currently stands 12th.

MULTIPLE LEADERS: Three different golfers have led Cal in at least one tournament this season. Senior Sofie Andersson held top honors in four of the first five tournaments, but senior Sophia Sheridan has recorded the Bears' top performance in the last two events - the Wildcat Invitational (second) and the Cal Guadalajara Invitational (T15th). Junior Mika Takayama paced Cal at the Edean Ihlanfeldt Invitationa in October, tying for 12th for her best finish of the season.

ANDERSSON PURSUES CAL RECORD BOOKS: Senior Sofie Andersson is on pace to break Cal's season and career scoring records. In 2005-06, Andersson boasts a 73.76 stroke average, which would break Sarah Huarte's 2003-04 mark of 73.82. Andersson, who competed at Mississippi State as a freshman, owns a 74.4 career scoring average, which is on pace to surpass Huarte's school record of 75.1. If Andersson's freshman year isn't factored into the equation, she still beats Huarte with a 74.3 stroke average.
