Faculty And Staff To Receive 50% Discount On Season Ticket Purchase
March 28, 2006
Stanford, Calif. - Stanford Athletics today announced that current faculty and staff, as well as those with Emeritus status would receive a 50% discount for seats purchased in the Faculty/Staff section of the new Stanford Stadium. Additionally, the Faculty/Staff section has been expanded from the 30-45 yard line (Sideline Advantage) in the upper bowl of the East side of the stadium to include the 15-30 yard line (Sideline Plus) in the upper bowl.
Current, full-time benefited faculty and staff (academic and non-academic) and those with Emeritus status, will be eligible for the 50% discount. Seats located in the Sideline Advantage section will be discounted to $138 per season ticket and seats in the adjacent Sideline Plus section will be discounted to $125 per season ticket. The 2006 Season Ticket package includes the September 9 game against SJSU at Spartan Stadium.
'Stanford Athletics has enhanced its season ticket offer for faculty and staff as a way to show their appreciation for the people who work with our students on a day-to-day basis,' said John Etchemendy, University Provost. 'I was delighted with this decision and hope that the new offer will encourage more faculty and staff attendance at games.'
Nearly 11,000 people represent the current Stanford faculty and staff community. In an effort to offer faculty and staff equal opportunity to sit in the designated Faculty/Staff section, the number of discounted season tickets will be limited to four per household. Faculty and staff interested in purchasing more than four tickets or prefer to sit in another part of the stadium can do so at the regular season ticket price.
'Faculty and staff are an important part of our community,' said Director of Athletics Bill Walsh. 'We have a mutual responsibility to our students, and that is to enrich their lives both in and out of the classroom. We hope our new ticket offer will allow more faculty and staff to take part in celebrating and cheering on our student-athletes.'
Representatives of the Stanford Athletic Ticket Office will be contacting all faculty and staff that have already submitted 2006 Ticket Order Forms to discuss the new ticket options and assist with updating orders. Those interested in purchasing 2006 Football Season Tickets can call the Athletic Ticket Office at (800) STANFORD or (650) 723-1021. A 2006 Ticket Order Form can also be downloaded at stanfordstadium.com and faxed to (650) 723-6084.
