Jaskowiak Leads Women of Troy In Pac-10 All-Academic Honors

LOS ANGELES, CALIF. -- Following a run to the NCAA Second Round, four members of the USC women's basketball team have earned Pacific-10 All-Academic awards for th 2005-06 season. Junior Allison Jaskowiak leads the Trojans with a 3.61 GPA, earning a place on the All-Academic second team for her first such Pac-10 honor in her USC career. Also receiving All-Academic accolades as honorable mention are juniors Jamie Hagiya and Chloé Kerr and sophomore Símone Jelks. Hagiya and Kerr also received honorable mention as sophomores, and this is Jelks' first Pac-10 award.
Jaskowiak's honor as a second team member is the first appearance by a Trojan on the first or second All-Academic team since Carmen Krause's second-team honor in 2002. This also marks the second straight season that USC has had at least two players receive All-Academic honors.
The 2006 Pacific-10 Conference Women's Basketball All-Academic teams were announced today by Commissioner Tom Hansen. To be eligible for selection to the academic team, a student-athlete must have a minimum 3.0 overall grade-point average and be either a starter or significant contributor.
