Trojan Newcomers Shine As McDonald's All-Americans

March 28, 2006

USC's women's basketball talent continues to deepen with the addition of four incoming stars: Jacki Gemelos, Morghan Medlock, Aarika Hughes and Hailey Dunham. Gemelos and Medlock were named McDonald's All-Americans in honor of their outstanding high school careers, and will appear in San Diego this week for the 5th annual McDonald's All-American High School Basketball Game.

Gemelos and Medlock are just two of four California high school players named to the 24-player squad, with 12 players chosen from the east and 12 from the west. Gemelos hails from Stockton, Calif., out of St. Mary's High School, and Medlock is a Harbor City, Calif., native from Narbonne High School. Both players dominated on the court in their high school careers, and bring their anticipated talent as McDonald's All-Americans to USC for the coming season.

The McDonald's All-American High School Girls Game is set for Cox Arena in San Diego, Calif., with tipoff at 4:30 p.m. The game will later be aired on ESPN at 10 a.m. on April 6.
