Wood Fires Final-Round 67 To Lead Trojans

Senior Taylor Wood's 67 and USC's combined 283 were both the low rounds of the day as USC finished fifth after the final round of the 15-team National Invitational Tournament at Omni Tucson (Ariz.) National Golf Course on Tuesday (March 28).

USC, which opened the day in ninth, rose to fifth after its strong final day and finished with a three-day total of 864 (E). UCLA won the tournament with an 850.

Wood, who started the day tied for 36th, shot up to a seventh-place tie with his 67, finishing with a three-day 212 (-4). His 67 was his fourth round in the 60s this season and his 214 tied a season-best.

Senior Bradley Shaw also had a big day, firing off a 69 (his third 69 of the season) to finish tied for 39th (219, +3). Junior Jordan Nasser was also tied for 39th after his second 72 in a row.

Junior Joshua Wooding finished tied for 43rd after his third-round 75 left him at 220 (+4). Senior Tyler Ley finished tied for 54th at 222 (+6).
