Nikki Blue To Compete In College 3-Point Championship Thursday

UCLA senior guard Nikki Blue will participate in the 18th Annual Dell College Slam Dunk & 3-Point Championship on Thursday, Mar. 30 at 7 pm ET. The competition will take place at Butler University's Hinkle Fieldhouse in Indianapolis during men's Final Four week. The competition will be broadcast on ESPN that day at 9 pm ET.
Joining Blue in the women's 3-Point Shooting Championship are Megan Duffy of Notre Dame, Tamara James of Miami and Erin Grant of Texas Tech, Julie Larsen of Utah, Lindsey Bowen of Michigan St. and Cappie Pondexter of Rutgers.
Blue ranked fourth in the Pac-10 this season in three-point shooting with a .418 percentage. She was also the Pac-10 assist leader with a5.91 average. The four-time first-team All-Pac-10 selection earned AP Honorable Mention All-America honors. She averaged 12.5 points and 4.7 rebounds per game and recorded three double-doubles, three 20-point games and scored in double figures in 23 games. Blue finished her Bruin career ranked No. 5 on UCLA's all-time scoring list with 1,797 points, second on the assist chart with 602 and third on the steals list with 325.
Bruce Horan of Butler, Chris Quinn of Notre Dame, Dee Brown of Illinois, Steve Novak of Marquette, Kevin Pittsnogle of West Virginia and Keydren Clark of St. Peters will compete in the Men's 3-Point Shooting Championship. Entered in the Slam Dunk Contest are Maurice Ager of Michigan State, Vincent Grier of Minnesota, James White of Cincinnati, David Noel of North Carolina, Erroll Knight of Gonazaga, Lawrence Wright of Bradley and Rodney Carney of Memphis.
Tickets to the 18th Annual Dell College Slam Dunk & 3-Point Championship can be purchased at the Clowes Memorial Hall Box Office on the Butler University campus, at ticketmaster.com or by calling 239-5151. The charge for adults is $10, while students and kids 18 & under can purchase a ticket for $8.
