Jasmer Places Eighth In 200 Free At Spring Championships

FEDERAL WAY, Wash.-- Washington freshman Kim Jasmer, UW's only competitor Thursday at the Spring Championships, fell just shy of her lifetime best in the 200 meter freestyle, placing eighth with a time of 2:04.03. The time converted to short course yards is 1:48.75 and is just slower than her time of 1:48.36 posted at the Pac-10 Championships in February.
The Huskies continue action Friday in five events, including the 100 meter backstroke, 400 meter freestyle, 100 meter breaststroke, 100 meter butterfly and 400 meter freestyle relay.
Preliminary races being at 9 a.m., with finals at 5:30 p.m. The meet is being held at the Weyerhaeuser King County Aquatics Center.
