Spring Season Underway For Men's Soccer

SEATTLE - The spring season is underway for Washington men's soccer with 10 matches against six Northwest opponents on the upcoming schedule, including home contests versus Seattle Pacific, Seattle University, Portland, Western Washington and the Seattle Sounders.

With three matches under their belt, Huskies head to Portland this week to face the rival Pilots and the Portland Timbers, Sat., April 1.

Following Washington's trip to Portland, the Huskies return to Seattle for a doubleheader with Seattle Pacific and Seattle U., Sat., April 8. UW will take on SPU at Interbay Field at noon, before heading back to the Husky Soccer Field to take on Seattle U. at 3 p.m.

The Huskies will make their second trip to Oregon, this time to Corvallis for a pair of games versus Pac-10 rival Oregon State, Sat., April 15, at 10 a.m. and 12:30 p.m. Washington culminates its spring slate with four straight home matches. The Huskies will face SPU and the Seattle Sounders at Husky Soccer Field on Wed., April 19, at 5 p.m. and 7 p.m., respectively.

UW wraps the spring season with a doubleheader versus Portland (noon) and Western Washington (3 p.m.), on Sat., April 29, at Husky Soccer Field.

Washington, which finished the 2005 season with a 10-7-2 overall record, opens the 2006 campaign hosting UC Davis, Fri., Aug., 25, at 7 p.m. at Husky Soccer Field.
