The Milwaukee Brewers have four former Trojans (third baseman Jeff Cirillo, outfielder Geoff Jenkins, catcher Chad Moeller and pitcher Justin Lehr) while the Houston Astros have three former Trojans (third baseman Morgan Ensberg, outfielder Jason Lane and catcher/utility Eric Munson).

The other seven players are third baseman Aaron Boone (Cleveland Indians), pitcher Barry Zito (Oakland A's), pitcher Randy Johnson (New York Yankees), pitcher Mark Prior (Chicago Cubs, starting the season on the disabled list), outfielder Jacque Jones (Chicago Cubs), pitcher Randy Flores (St. Louis Cardinals) and pitcher Brian Bannister (New York Mets).

Johnson and Zito will face each other tonight as the New York Yankees play at the Oakland A's in the 7:05 p.m. Pacific opener at McAfee Coliseum.

Bannister will later make his major league debut for the Mets after being pegged as the No. 5 starter in the rotation, becoming the 93rd former Trojan to play in the major leagues.

A total of 18 former Trojans played in at least one major league game last season.
