Cal's Match Against USC Rescheduled

BERKELEY - California's women's tennis match against USC originally scheduled for Friday, has been rescheduled due to rain and will be made up on Sunday at 10 a.m. at Hellman Tennis Center.

USC leads the Bears 2-0, as the Trojans recorded singles victories on court three and six before inclement weather. 49th-ranked Luana Magnani defeated Stephanie Kusano, 7-5, 6-0, playing in the No. 3 spot, while Carine Vermeulen outlasted Jessica Shu on court six, 6-2, 7-6.

Four other singles matches are still pending. In the No. 1 position, No. 10 Suzi Fodor fell to No. 51 Lindsey Nelson in a tiebreaker, 6-7 (6-4) and then came back to grab a 6-4 victory. Playing No. 2 singles, No. 27 Suzi Babos defeated ninth-ranked Amanda Fink, 7-6, while their second set it tied at 4-4. On court four, Cristina Visico dropped one set to Dianne Matias, 1-6 and their second set is in a tiebreaker, 6-6 (7-6). Claire Ilcinkas grabbed one set over Anca Anastasiu, 7-5, and she is ahead 2-0 in the second set.

Play will resume Sunday at 10:00 a.m.
