Stanford Wrestlers Set for Competition at FILA Nationals

Stanford, Calif. - Eight Cardinal wrestlers will gather in Las Vegas this weekend, as the best wrestlers in the country will compete for national titles and all-America honors at the Las Vegas U.S. National Wrestling Championships in Las Vegas, Nev., April 14-15.

This event is the major qualifying event for the World Team Trials. The top seven athletes in each division will enter the World Team Trials tournament in their division. The Men's World Team Trials will be in Sioux City, Iowa, May 27-28. Stanford wrestlers Jared Boyer, Phil Doerner, Luke Feist and Scott Loescher are set to compete in the Senior National division in freestyle, with Loescher also competing in the Greco-Roman field.

This will be a busy week of wrestling at the Las Vegas Convention Center. The nation's best 17-20 year-old men wrestlers will compete in freestyle and Greco-Roman at the Men's FILA Junior National Championships. Cardinal freshmen Matt Kim, Peter Miller, Tyler Parker and Kyle Pubols are all slated to compete in the Junior Nationals in freestlyle, with Miller also competing in Greco-Roman.
