Caldwell Runs Lifetime-Best in 1500m at Mt. SAC Relays

Junior Ashley Caldwell ran a lifetime-best and the No. 9 time in the nation in the 1500m on Saturday at the Mt. SAC Relays in Walnut, CA. Caldwell finished fifth overall in the invitational section of the 1500m, dropping her season-best by five seconds to improve on her regional qualifying mark.

For the fifth consecutive meet, senior Chelsea Johnson jumped 14-feet or higher as she finished third overall in the invitational section of the pole vaul. Johnson cleared 14-0 as the top collegiate finisher.

Sophomore Renee Williams placed seventh in the invitational section of the long jump with a mark of 20-0.50.

In the open high jump, senior Caroline Sommers and freshman Rhonda Watkins both cleared 5-10.75, equaling their season-best marks as Sommers finished third and Watkins was fourth.

Up next for the Bruins
The majority of the team will be off as they prepare for the annual dual meet battle with USC (April 29), but those who will compete will head south to San Diego for the UCSD Triton Invitational Friday, April 21-Saturday, April 22.
