April 27, 2006
On the strength of its third straight Pacific-10 Conference championship, the UCLA women's golf program landed four players on various all-conference teams.
Freshmen Tiffany Joh and Jane Park were named to the All-Pac-10 First Team and Joh was voted Newcomer of the Year. In the recent Pac-10 Championship, Joh tied for third and Park tied for sixth. Joh leads the team in scoring average at 72.2 and Park ranks second at 72.4. In the national rankings earlier this week, Park was ranked fifth, followed by Joh at No. 7.
Sophomore Amie Cochran, who was ranked 14th, earned Second-Team All-Pac-10 honors and senior Susie Mathews was named honorable mention. Cochran was a first-team selection last year and Mathews has earned all-league distinction four times.
For Head Coach Carrie Forsyth, the announcement increases the number of different UCLA all-conference selections to 13 during her seven-year tenure. In addition, seven different UCLA players have earned All-America honors during her stint as head coach.
