Suzi Fodor Wins Pac-10 Singles Title

Ojai, Calif. - Suzi Fodor, who is currently the eighth-ranked singles player in the nation, defeated USC's No. 10 Amanda Fink Sunday in the Pac-10 Singles Championship. Fink forced a tough first set, but Fodor came back to take the title with a 7-6 (2), 6-3 victory.

Fodor, a junior from Budapest, Hungary, has tallied a 33-13 singles record so far this season and recorded a quarterfinals victory over Stanford's No. 9 Anne Yelsey and also tallied a win in the semifinals yesterday over 26th-ranked Lindsey Nelson of USC.

In doubles action this afternoon, Fodor teamed up with Suzi Babos to compete for the Pac-10 doubles crown, but the 11th-ranked duo was defeated by Stanford's top-ranked Alice Barnes and Anne Yelsey, 8-4. Barnes and Yelsey earned their second straight doubles title.

After a successful Pac-10 tournament run, the ninth ranked Bears gear up for the NCAA Tournament, May 12-13. Seeding will be announced May 3.
