Varsity Eight Prepare for NCAA Championships

USC's fourth-ranked Varsity Eight rowing team will compete in the 10th annual NCAA Championships on May 26- 28 at Finn Caspersen Rowing Center in West Windsor, New Jersey. The Trojans were one of four teams to receive an at large bid to the championships. This will be the ninth consecutive NCAA outing for the Women of Troy.

The Trojans will be competing in the first race of the regatta on Friday at 8 a.m, in heat one of three, with a lane one seed. In their heat they will face fellow Pac-10 foes No.15 Stanford and No. 11 Washington, as well as No. 6 Brown, No. 7 Ohio State and No. 8 Yale. The teams with the top 12 times will move on to race on Saturday in the semifinals at 10:30 a.m. or 10:45 a.m. The other four teams will race for places 13-16 at 11 a.m.

Last year the Varsity Eight placed 10th overall with at time of 6:31.71. The Trojans competed as a team last year for the first time in USC history.
