Louisville Slugger/NFCA Division I All-America Teams Announced

May 31, 2006

Oklahoma City, Okla. - Stanford senior outfielder Catalina Morris was named a Third-Team All-American by the National Fastpitch Coaches Association this afternoon as the 2006 Louisville Slugger/NFCA Division I All-America teams were announced. Coaching representatives for the NFCA selected 18 players for each of the three teams.

Morris was also a First-Team All-Pac-10 and First-Team All-Pacific Region selection earlier this season. She earned Pac-10 Player of the Week honors on May 16 after leading the Cardinal to wins over Washington and UCLA in the closing weekend of Pac-10 action. Morris closed out the season with a team-leading .365 batting average, 39 runs and 29 RBI. She also boasts a .988 fielding percentage in center field with just one error.

During her four years on The Farm, Morris accumulated a .336 batting average to rank her fourth on Stanford's all-time list. She now ranks second for career hits with 261 and second all-time for home runs with 34, including seven this season. Morris also claims the second spot all-time at Stanford for runs scored (174) and stolen bases (43) behind Olympian Jessica Mendoza. She owns the career triples record with 17 after collecting five triples this year.
