Bruin Swimmers Head to Irvine for Senior National Championships

Five current Bruins, one Bruin to be and one recent graduate will travel down the 405 freeway to Irvine, CA for the 2006 Senior National Championships August 1-5. Competing will be - seniors Jeana Fuccillo, Jane Imagane and Isabel Miesner; sophomores Anna Poteete and Madeleine Stanton; and 2006 graduate Kim Vandenberg. Incoming freshman Julie Imagane will also compete at Nationals.
The ConocoPhillips USA Swimming National Championships qualifies swimmers for the following meets: 2006 Mutual of Omaha Pan Pacific Championships (Aug. 17-21, Victoria, British Columbia); 2007 FINA World Championships (March 25-April 1, Melbourne, Australia); 2007 Mutual of Omaha Duel in the Pool (April 3, Sydney, Australia); 2007 World University Games (Aug. 8-13, Bangkok, Thailand); 2007 Pan American Games (July 14-21, Rio de Janeiro, Brazil).
The UCLA competitors will compete in the following events - Vandenberg (50-100-200 Free/100-200 Fly); Fuccillo (100-200 Breast/200-400IM); Miesner (200 Fly); Jane Imagane (800 Free); Nelson (400-800 Free); Poteete (50-100 Free); Stanton (100-200 Back); Incoming freshman Julie Imagane (400-800 Free).
