Bixler Moves Into Tie For Sixth At Pacific Coast Amateur

SAN FRANCISCO -- Washington golfer Zach Bixler shot a two-under 69 in the third round of the Pacific Coast Amateur, Thursday, to move into a tie for sixth place going into Friday's final round.

Bixler is three strokes behind the leaders heading into the final 18 holes, carding three-over 215 overall (71-73-69).Also competing in the same tournament was teammate Alex Prugh who after two tough rounds shot three-under 68 on Thursday. Prugh shot one of the best rounds of the day but will enter Friday's final round tied for 42nd (78-77-68-223).

Fellow Husky Erik Olson was able to get his round in at the Western Amateur Golf Championship in Benton Harbor, Mich., Thursday, but play was halted at 9 p.m. ET due to weather. Olson shot even-par 70, after carding a five-over 75 in the first round. He is currently 10 strokes behind the leader but it won't be known until the second round is completed on Friday whether or not he will make the cut for the third round.
