McKeever, Bears Named to USA Rosters

BERKELEY - California women's swimming head coach Teri McKeever and five of her past and present Golden Bears were named to U.S. swimming rosters for two international events in 2007. McKeever will be an assistant coach on the U.S. women's squad that competes at the FINA World Championships March 25-April 1 in Melbourne, Australia.

The Cal coach is coming off a head coaching stint for the United States at the recently completed Pan Pacific Championships.

Natalie Coughlin, the U.S. Olympian, current Golden Bears volunteer assistant coach and former Cal star, Jessica Hardy, who will be a sophomore at Cal this season, and Dana Vollmer, a Florida transfer who will be a Cal sophomore this year, will join McKeever in Melbourne.

Cal senior Erin Reilly and junior teammate Emily Silver will also be competing for the United States next year, at the 2007 World University Games Aug. 8-13, in Bangkok, Thailand.

The Bears open their collegiate season with a dual meet at 5 p.m. CT on Thursday, Oct. 12, at Northwestern in Evanston, Ill.
