UCLA Men's Soccer Team Falls To Maryland, 4-1

College Park, MD - The No. 10/6 UCLA men's soccer team dropped a 4-1 decision to No. 1/4 Maryland in a game that was postponed a day due to heavy rains. Sophomore forward Maxwell Griffin scored UCLA's only goal, a diving header from a Sal Zizzo cross at 59:32.
Maryland, the defending NCAA champions, jumped out to a 2-0 first-half lead after goals from Jason Herrick in the 25th minute and Stephen King in the 29th minute. Just a minute into the second half, Maryland added a third goal off a Jeremy Hall 14-yard shot.
Griffin got UCLA on the board in the 60th minute, but Maryland extended its lead in the 74th minute on a 25-yard shot from Graham Zusi.
UCLA goalkeeper Eric Reed had five saves off 14 Terrapin shots, while Maryland keeper Chris Seitz made two saves.
The Bruins will conclude their East Coast swing with a game at No. 4/3 Virginia on Monday at 7 pm ET.
