Mackenzie Opens Play at John Q. Hammons Hotel Classic

Tulsa, Okla. - Former UW golfer Paige Mackenzie opened play at her second professional tournament, the John Q. Hammons Hotel Classic, at the Cedar Ridge Country Club in Tulsa, Okla. The 2006 Pac-10 Champion received a sponsor's exemption into the event, and finished the day at 3-over-par 74, good for 77th place.

The Yakima, Wash. native opened her professional career at the Wendy's Championship for Children, held at the Tartan Fields Golf Club in Dublin, Ohio. Her 4-under-par 279 was good for a tie for 23rd place.

Mackenzie tees off for the second round on Saturday, Sept. 9 at 5:15 a.m. PT. Television coverage of the John Q. Hammons Hotel Classic can be seen on Saturday, Sept. 9 from 4-6:30 p.m. PT on the Golf Channel.
