Stanford Women Finish Second At Topy Cup

Tokyo, Japan - After leading through two rounds at the prestigious Topy Cup in Japan, the Stanford women tallied a team score of 894 (308-290-296) to finish just two strokes behind team champion USC (301-300-291--892) at the Tanagura County Club. Stanford senior Jennifer Tangtiphaiboontana notched a second-place finish to lead the Cardinal with a three-round total of 219 (75-71-73).

USC's Veronica Felibert took top individual honors, just two strokes in front of Tantiphaiboontana with a score of 217 (75-72-70). Stanford's Lauren Todd and Mari Chun followed with a tied for third place. A senior, Todd posted a three-round score of 222 (76-72-74), along with sophomore Chun (78-72-72--222).

In her first collegiate tournament, freshman Catherina Wang placed ninth with a score of 231 (79-75-77). Sophomore Ki-Shui Liao followed in tenth place with a score of 233 (79-76-78).

After making the trek back to campus, the Cardinal will return to the road for the Mason Rudolph Women's Championship in Franklin, TN on September 15-17.
