Mackenzie In 11th Place After Stage Two of Q-School

Rancho Mirage, Calif. - Former UW women's golfer Paige Mackenzie sits in a tie for 11th place after the second stage of play in the LPGA Sectional Qualifying Tournament in Rancho Mirage, Calif. at the Mission Hills Country Club. The 2006 Pac-10 Champion finished her second day at even-par 72, matching her first round score for an even two-day total of 144.

Mackenzie tees off at 8:45 a.m. on Thursday, Sept. 21 for the third stage of the tournament.

The top 30 players after the four-day event advance to the LPGA Final Qualifying Tournament in Daytona Beach, Fla., which will be held at both the LPGA International Legends and Champions courses from Nov. 29- Dec. 23, 2006. The first 72 holes are played on both courses, while players play the Legends course during the final round. The cut, historically held after 54 holes, will reduce the field to the low 70 players and ties after 72 holes.
