Two Sun Devils Invited To Participate in All-American Classic

TEMPE, Ariz. - Two Arizona State University Sun Devil football student-athletes have been invited to play in the 2007 Las Vegas All-American Classic Football game on January 15, 2007. Senior safety Zach Catanese and senior defensive lineman Jordan Hill have both been extended invitations to take part in the fifth annual all-star game to be played at UNLV's Sam Boyd Stadium. Last season, cornerback Mike Davis, Jr. represented the Sun Devils in the game.
Catanese (Redding, Calif.) had an outstanding first season in Tempe in 2005 , totaling 107 tackles, second-highest on the team. He is the leading returning tackler in the Pacific-10 Conference in 2006. The transfer from Shasta College also had two sacks and an interception last season while earning All-Pac-10 Honorable Mention honors. So far in 2006, Catanese has made 11 tackles, forced two fumbles and recovered a fumble.
Hill (Pocatello, Idaho) has played in 39 straight games for the Sun Devils. He was an Honorable Mention All-Pac-10 performer last year, when he made 31 tackles, six for loss, a sack and two fumble recoveries. Hill has five tackles, two tackles for loss, a sack and an interception through three games this season.
