Huskies Tie For Second at Nittany Lion Invitational

University Park, Pa. - The Washington women's golf team finished in a tie for second in its first tournament of the 2006-07 season, the Nittany Lion Invitational, held at the Penn State Blue Course in University Park, Pa. The Huskies notched a three-round total of 937, trailing host Penn State by 10 strokes.

Seniors Amber Prange and Amy Wang led the Huskies, finishing in a tie for fourth place. Prange remained in the top-five throughout the tournament, shooting a 76 during round one, a 78 during round two and a 79 to close out the tournament. Wang shot a 76 in the third round, after marking a 78 and 79 in the first two rounds, respectively.

Freshman Molly Aronsson finished in a tie for sixth place. Her second-round 74 was the best single-round total for any Husky during the tournament.

Courtney McCracken and Kim Shin rounded out the scoring for Washington, finishing in ties for 22nd and 26th, respectively.

Freshman Christina Yoon and sophomore Molly Boyle played as individuals, with Yoon finishing in a tie for ninth and Boyle finishing in a tie for 26th.

The Huskies head home for the Edean Ihlanfeldt Invitational, which will be held at the Sahalee Golf Course in Redmond, Wash. from October 9-11.
