Bruins Capture Husky Invitational Title

The second-ranked UCLA men's golf team captured first place and sophomore Lucas Lee finished second at the Husky Invitational at Washington National GC in Auburn, WA.
The Bruins posted an even par score of 288 Tuesday for a 54-hole total of 855 (-9). They held off Washington, which fired a final round score of 281 (-7) for a three-round score of 864 (E). UC Davis placed third at 876 (+12), followed by Cal at 877 (+13) and Washington State at 881 (+17). Loyola Marymount was sixth at 886 (+22), followed by San Diego State at 887 (+23), Oregon State at 891 (+27) and Oregon at 896 (+32).
The top five UCLA players played in the team competition and the other five competed as individuals. In the team competition, UCLA sophomore Lucas Lee placed second at six-under par 210 with a final round score of 74 (+2). Lee was leading the tournament through 14 holes in the final round, but played the last four holes in three-over par for an inward nine score of 40 (+4).
Also in team competition, junior Craig Lesllie tied for fifth place at 212 (-4) following a final round score of 67 (-5). Junior Kevin Chappell tied for 15th place at even par 216 after posting a 74 (+2) on Tuesday. Junior Daniel Im tied for 23rd at 220 (+4) after a final round 76 (+4) and sophomore Erik Flores tied for 30th at 222 (+8) following a final round 73 (+1).
Senior Peter Campbell was the top UCLA individual, tying for fifth place at 212 (-4) after carding a two-under par 70 in the final round. Sophomore James Lee posted a 73 (+1) and placed ninth at 213 (-3). Freshman Jason Kang finished 22nd at 219 (+3) after carding a 71 (-1) and senior Chris Heintz tied for 30th at 222 (+8) following a one-over par 73 in the final round. Freshman Charlie Harris posted a 78 (+6) in the final round and tied for 46th at 227 (+11).
