COUGAR VOLLEYBALL HOME TO HOST BEAVERS AND DUCKS: The Washington State volleyball team, 12-6 on the season, 0-4 in Pacific-10 Conference competition, is home this weekend to host a pair of Pac-10 teams not ranked in the top eight nationally...WSU takes on Oregon State (3-9, 0-3) Friday night and meets Oregon (11-2, 1-2) Saturday night...both matches have 7 p.m. start times in Bohler the remaining matches, WSU will have only three more weekends of playing teams who are currently unranked: Oct. 19&20 at Arizona/Arizona State, Nov. 2&3 at Oregon/Oregon State, and Nov. 16&17 versus ASU/Arizona in Pullman.

COUGAR COACHING STAFF: Brian Heffernan returns for his third season at WSU (26-54)...assistant coaches are Jody Garry (third year) and Ken Ko (second year)...Kirby Garry is the coordinator of volleyball operations.

COUGAR VOLLEYBALL WEBCASTS: All remaining matches played at Bohler Gym this season will be available for live streaming webcasts at subscription to All-Access is required...webcasts will begin five minutes before first serve.

LAST WEEK: For the second consecutive week, WSU volleyball played a pair of top-ranked teams...Cougars lost at No. 5 USC Thursday night 14-30, 30-24, 24-30, 27-30 and then fell Friday night at No. 3 UCLA 17-30, 30-24, 21-30, 26-30...Brittany Johnson was the team kills leader for the two matches with 29 followed by the 25 kills of Adetokunbo Faleti and 24 kills from Kelly Rosin...Tara West had 12 blocks, Corina Beyer had 84 assists and Kelly Hyder had 41 digs with 29 coming against No. 5 USC.

THE ABC CAMPAIGN: Cougar volleyball and the Breast Cancer Support Group of the Palouse, known as the Bosom Buddies, have joined together for the Attacking Breast Cancer (ABC) Pledge Drive for the fifth consecutive year...October is Breast Cancer Awareness Month and the Cougar players will be collecting monetary pledges for each attack which results in a kill (and a point) for WSU during the seven matches this month...a total of $5,791.65 has been collected since the first campaign in 2002...players will wear pink ribbons to draw attention to the campaign...interested donors may contact the WSU volleyball office at 509-335-0277.

ABOUT THE OREGON STATE BEAVERS (3-9, 0-3): The Beavers are coming off a three-match losing streak, including losses to No. 7 USC, No. 3 UCLA and state-rial Oregon....Oregon wins have come against Oral Roberts, San Diego State and Fresno State...leading the Beavs are: 6-5 Australian Fr.
