Mouillon Stays Alive in Consolation Tournament
Oct. 6, 2006
TULSA, OK - Junior Pierre Mouillon now has five wins in the Polo Ralph Lauren All-American Championships. Following his three victories in the qualifying rounds and a first-round loss in the main draw, the junior transfer from Mississippi State won the opening two matches of the consolation tournament. Mouillon defeated LSU's Ken Skupski, 6-4, 6-7(5), 6-2, Friday at the Michael D. Case Tennis Center.
Friday's victory also marked the seventh singles win for Mouillon during the fall season. Before the championships, he won two matches in the Napa Valley Classic last month.
Mouillon continues in the consolation bracket on Saturday against Steven Moneke of Ohio State. If he wins, Mouillon will have to get a second victory later in the day in order to advance to the finals.
The rest of the Golden Bears will compete in the Bronco Classic this weekend. The classic starts today and continues through Sunday.
