Rasmussen Reaches Singles Finals at Bronco Classic

The 2006 Bronco Classic in Santa Clara concluded its three-day tournament today with Stanford's Chris Rasmussen reaching the singles finals of the 'B' flight and the Cardinal's doubles team of Eric McKean and Paul Morrissey reaching the semifinals of the 'A' flight. Rasmussen won his semifinal match earlier today, but was defeated in the singles final.
Rasmussen beat Tommie Hicks of Santa Clara in the semis, 6-1, 0-6, 6-3. He later lost the final to another Bronco, Jay Wong, 6-2, 6-4 to conclude the 'B' Flight singles division.
In doubles, Eric McKean and freshman Paul Morrissey reached the semifinals of the 'A' flight division before losing to John Petit and Geoff Chizevar of Cal, 8-4.
Stanford will next be in action October 20-24 as it hosts the ITA Regional Championships at the Taube Tennis Stadium.
