Box Score

BERKELEY, Calif. - No. 12 California tied Arizona, 1-1, Friday afternoon at Edwards Stadium in the Golden Bears' fourth overtime game of the season. The Golden Bears are now 7-2-4 (0-1-2 Pac-10) in 2006 and 10-0-2 all-time against Arizona, while the Wildcats are 8-5-1 (1-1-1) this season.

'We were inconsistent,' said Cal head coach Kevin Boyd. 'We had moments where we played well, and we had moments where we were flat and let them come at us, and played with a lack of emotion and energy. They need to dig a little deeper and find a little more passion and put it in the game.'

Senior forward Julia Schnugg lifted Cal to a 1-0 lead in the 12th minute when she scored on a header off a long free kick by freshman defender Brianna Bak. Schnugg and senior forward Katie Ratican are tied for the team lead with three goals this year.

Cal freshman forward Lisa Kevorkian had a goal waved off in the 16th minute due to an offsides call.

Arizona tied the game in the 42nd minute when the Bears surrendered an own goal off of a corner kick by the Wildcats' Kaity Heath.

Cal outshot Arizona, 13-10, and held the Wildcats' leading scorer, Gianna DeSaverio, to one shot in 110 minutes of action. The Bears also held a 3-2 edge in shots in overtime and dominated possession in the final 10 minutes of the game. Ratican forced Arizona's goalkeeper Chelsea McIntyre to make two of her five saves in the final three minutes of extra time.

The teams combined for 19 corner kicks in the game, with Cal launching 10.

The Bears look for their first Pac-10 win of the season when they battle Arizona State Sunday, Oct. 15, at 12 p.m. at Edwards Stadium.
