The 10th-ranked UCLA men's soccer team suffered a 2-0 setback at Washington on Sunday afternoon, the result snapping a five-game winning streak for the Bruins.

Washington took the early lead in the game on a penalty kick by Ely Allen at the 5:23 mark. Allen earned the penalty kick when he was fouled by Bruins goalkeeper Eric Reed in the box. The Huskies struck again at 17:40 when George John connected on a 15-yard shot to the far left corner.

The Bruins had a chance to cut the lead in half in the 84th minute when they earned a penalty kick on a foul in the box. Freshman Kyle Nakazawa took the penalty kick and shot to his left, but Washington goalkeeper Rylan Hawkins guessed correctly and batted it out of bounds to preserve the shutout.

Things got worse for the Bruins just minutes later when leading scorer Sal Zizzo was issued a red card in the 86th minute on a hard foul to John, leaving the Bruins down a man for the rest of the contest. Zizzo will be ineligible to play in the Bruins' next contest against Stanford on Friday.

The loss drops UCLA's record to 9-4-2, 4-2-1 in the Pac-10. Washington improves to 10-5-1, 3-5-1 in the Pac-10.
