COUGARS BEGIN SECOND HALF OF PAC-10 SEASON: The Washington State volleyball team, 14-9 on the season, 2-7 in Pacific-10 Conference competition, returns home to Bohler Gym to start the second half of the conference season with a pair of ranked schools...No. 4 UCLA (22-1, 8-1) comes to town Thursday, Oct. 26, and No. 5 USC (18-2, 7-2) will be on the Palouse for a Friday, Oct. 27 contest.

COUGAR COACHING STAFF: Brian Heffernan returns for his third season at WSU (28-57)...assistant coaches are Jody Garry (third year) and Ken Ko (second year)...Kirby Garry is the coordinator of volleyball operations.

COUGAR VOLLEYBALL WEBCASTS: All remaining matches played at Bohler Gym this season will be available for live streaming webcasts at subscription to All-Access is required...webcasts will begin five minutes before first serve.

THE ABC CAMPAIGN: Cougar volleyball and the Breast Cancer Support Group of the Palouse, known as the Bosom Buddies, have joined together for the Attacking Breast Cancer (ABC) Pledge Drive for the fifth consecutive year...October is Breast Cancer Awareness Month and the Cougar players will be collecting monetary pledges for each attack which results in a point) for WSU during the seven matches this month...$5,791.65 has been collected since WSU volleyball at 509-335-0277.

LAST WEEK: The Cougars split at the Arizona schools, defeating Arizona 3-1 (26-30, 30-22, 30-26, 30-26) for the first time in 10 years, and then falling at Arizona State 35-33, 27-30, 19-30, 19-30)...Phoenix native Brittany Johnson had 28 kills and eight blocks during the two matches...Kelly Rosin chipped in 22 kills, 27 digs and nine blocks...freshman setter Corina Beyer had 75 assists...freshman libero Kelly Hyder had 46 digs including 26 in the loss at UA...Tara West contributed 10 blocks...ASU moved ahead of WSU in the conference standings at 3-6 while WSU and UA are tied with 2-7 records.
