Marshall and Radlinski Named Big 12 Players of the Week

DALLAS - Colorado soccer players Nikki Marshall and Kirstin Radlinski were named Big 12 Players of the Week the conference office announced Tuesday. 

 

Ashlee Pistorius (Texas A&M) was named Offensive Player of the Week while Marshall claimed Newcomer of the Week for the third time this season.  Julie Hanley (Kansas) and Radlinski were both named Defensive Players of the Week, for games played Oct. 20-22, the conference announced. 

 

Newcomer of the Week

Nikki Marshall, Colorado, F, Fr., Mead,
Colo.

Marshall set three school records in two games last weekend, giving her eight different records this season at
Colorado
.  With her goal on Friday in CU's win over Texas Tech,
Marshall
set the freshman scoring record with 11 goals and freshman points record with 24 on the season.  The Mead,
Colorado
native's game-winning goal against Baylor gave her CU's overall point record with 26 and she also tied the overall single season goals record of 12 with Katie Griffin.  
Marshall
has scored in three straight games and is the league's leading goal scorer. 

 

Defensive Player of the Week

Kirstin Radlinski, Colorado, GK, So.,
Placentia, Calif.

Facing the same opponents that Co-Defensive Player of the Week Hanley faced, Radlinski posted six saves on the weekend.  She has anchored
Colorado
in back-to-back shutouts as she racked up the third straight shut out for the Buffaloes last weekend. 

 

Defensive Player of the Week

Julie Hanley, Kansas, GK, So.,
Indianapolis, Ind.

Hanley shut out a pair of Big 12 opponents for the second straight weekend.  She made three saves in Friday's blanking of Baylor and five saves during the Texas Tech match.  She has not allowed a goal in over 334 minutes, dating back to overtime of an Oct. 8 match against Texas A&M.  In conference play Hanley owns a .33 goals against average, a .923 save percentage and five shutouts.

 

Offensive Player of the Week

Ashlee Pistorius, Texas A&M, F, Jr., Bloomington, Ill.
Pistorius registered her fourth career hat-trick on Friday night against
IowaState.  She scored three of the Aggies' seven goals.  Pistorius netted her fourth goal of the weekend in the 4-2 win over
Missouri
on Sunday to help the Aggies remain undefeated in conference play.  Her eight-point weekend moves Pistorius to the team point leader with 20 and fourth all-time in Aggie career leaders for goals scored with 49.  She is also third for game-winning goals (17) with her senior season remaining.
